B2B SEO Case Study: 6-Month Growth for National Engineers & Steel Fabricators

Summary
National Engineers started with DA/PA ~1, 17% Spam Score, weak product pages, no SEO blog or keyword strategy. In 6 months, we rebuilt its B2B SEO foundation through technical/on-page SEO, optimized product pages, ~40 industrial blogs, internal linking and quality backlinks—achieving 439K impressions, 6.51K clicks, 3.9% CTR, 4.4 avg. position, DA 39 and 1% Spam Score.

The challenge
Building an Organic Search Presence in a Competitive Industrial Market
When BrainADZ Marketing started working with National Engineers & Steel Fabricators, the website had been online for years but lacked the SEO foundation required to compete effectively in the modern industrial search landscape.
The website had limited search-optimized content, no structured keyword strategy, no dedicated SEO blog section and insufficiently developed product pages. Important manufacturing capabilities therefore had limited opportunities to rank for searches performed by engineers, procurement teams, EPC contractors, plant owners and industrial buyers.
The site's authority profile presented another challenge. At the beginning of the project, the reported Domain Authority and Page Authority were around 1, while the reported Moz Spam Score was approximately 17%. Improving authority therefore had to be approached carefully, with greater emphasis on backlink quality and relevance rather than link volume alone.
An Underdeveloped Product Architecture
National Engineers operates across multiple industrial categories, including steel fabrication, process equipment, pressure vessels, storage tanks, boilers, heat exchangers, process piping, HVAC ducting and structural fabrication.
However, the website did not have a sufficiently developed product-page structure to represent these capabilities in organic search.
For a B2B manufacturing SEO strategy, this was a significant limitation. Commercial pages needed to target relevant manufacturing searches while clearly communicating capabilities, applications and technical information to prospective buyers.
No Established SEO Content Ecosystem
The website also lacked a dedicated SEO-focused blog.
This limited its ability to target informational queries, technical questions, comparison searches and long-tail keywords associated with different stages of the industrial buying journey.
A content ecosystem therefore needed to be developed almost from scratch.
Competitors Already Had a Head Start
One of the biggest challenges was the competitive gap.
While National Engineers' digital presence had remained underdeveloped, several competing manufacturing websites had already spent years building content libraries, backlinks, optimized landing pages and organic keyword visibility.
Trying to close part of this gap within a six-month campaign meant that routine on-page optimization alone would not be sufficient.
The project required a coordinated industrial SEO strategy combining technical improvements, keyword mapping, commercial page development, content creation, internal linking and quality-focused authority building.
Our objective was not simply to generate more traffic. It was to establish a sustainable organic search foundation capable of helping National Engineers compete for relevant B2B manufacturing searches over the long term.
02 / Strategy & execution
How we approached it
- 01
SEO Audit & Technical Foundation
We began with a detailed review of the website's SEO foundation, including indexation, crawlability, page structure, metadata, headings, internal linking and content relevance. Priority technical and on-page issues were addressed first so that future product pages, content and authority-building activities could operate on a stronger foundation.
- 02
Industrial Keyword Research & Search Intent Mapping
We developed a keyword strategy around how industrial buyers actually search. Commercial, informational, product-specific and long-tail keywords were researched and mapped to the most appropriate pages. This allowed National Engineers to target manufacturing-related searches while avoiding unnecessary keyword overlap between product pages and informational content.
- 03
Product Page Development & On-Page SEO
The website's commercial content architecture was expanded with properly structured, search-focused product pages. Pages were optimized around relevant manufacturing capabilities, applications and buyer intent using improved titles, headings, metadata, technical information, semantic keyword coverage, FAQs and contextual internal links.
- 04
Industrial SEO Content Strategy
National Engineers initially had no dedicated SEO blog section. We introduced a structured industrial content strategy and developed approximately 40 SEO-focused articles within six months. Topics covered steel fabrication, process equipment, pressure vessels, storage tanks, boilers, heat exchangers, process piping, HVAC ducting, structural fabrication and other relevant manufacturing subjects.
- 05
On-Page SEO & Internal Linking
Important pages were continuously improved for search intent, heading structure, metadata, semantic relevance, image optimization and readability. Contextual internal links connected relevant industrial articles with product and commercial pages, strengthening topical relationships while creating clearer navigation paths for users and search engines.
- 06
AEO & GEO Content Optimization
Content was structured for traditional search as well as modern answer and AI-driven discovery experiences. Direct answers, FAQs, definitions, comparison sections, tables and logically organized headings were incorporated where useful, making technical content easier for users, search engines and AI systems to interpret.
- 07
Quality-Focused Link Building & Authority Development
Because the website started with a reported Moz Spam Score of approximately 17%, backlink quality was a major priority. Off-page work focused on relevant content placements, contextual backlinks, article submissions and supporting authority-building activities rather than link volume alone. Current Moz data reports a Domain Authority of 39, 169 linking root domains and a 1% Spam Score.
From an Underdeveloped SEO Foundation to Measurable Organic Visibility
The six-month campaign focused on building many of the SEO assets that established competitors had already developed over several years. The transformation included improvements across website structure, content, authority and organic search visibility.

Building a Competitive B2B Organic Search Presence
The National Engineers & Steel Fabricators project was not simply about optimizing an existing SEO strategy. Much of the website's organic search foundation had to be developed from the ground up.
The campaign started with an established but digitally underdeveloped industrial website that lacked a dedicated SEO blog, comprehensive product-page content, structured keyword targeting and a strong authority profile. At the same time, several competitors had already spent years strengthening their organic presence.
Over six months, BrainADZ developed a more comprehensive B2B SEO strategy combining technical optimization, industrial keyword research, product page SEO, approximately 40 search-focused articles, internal linking, AEO and GEO-oriented content structures, and quality-focused link building.
During the measured six-month Google Search Console period, National Engineers generated 439K search impressions and 6.51K clicks, with a 3.9% average CTR and 4.4 average search position.
Supporting Moz data reports a Domain Authority of 39, 169 linking root domains and a 1% Spam Score, compared with the project's reported starting point of approximately DA 1 and 17% Spam Score.
The campaign established a significantly broader organic search foundation for National Engineers and created an SEO ecosystem that can continue expanding through additional product optimization, technical industrial content and authority development.
